I did it - So What?

Season #1

What if recovery wasn’t about proving what your body can do, but about getting back to doing the everyday things that actually matter? In this episode, I reflect on the gap between being physically capable of doing something and having the strength, energy, balance and confidence to manage everyday life after surgery or a significant health diagnosis. I talk about my own changing relationship with my body, the spiral of uncertainty and fear that can come with recovery, and why I’ve stopped focusing on what my body should be able to do. Recovery is about more than physical strength. It’s about rebuilding capacity, confidence and trust in yourself — while still having enough left for your family, your life and the things that matter to you. And I share a little of what’s happening behind the scenes as I prepare to launch Recovery Beyond the Scar Collective — a space where we can rebuild strength, regain confidence and move forward together.
